Local Point-of-Sale Supply Company Celebrates 20 Years in Business

POS Supply Solutions, a leading provider of Point of Sale (POS) supplies, is celebrating 20 years of business in July 2019.

Headquartered in Middleton, MA, POS Supply Solutions offers the largest selection of Point of Sale supplies in the country, including thermal receipt paper rolls, printer ribbons, thermal labels, custom printed rolls and more. The company serves a full spectrum of industries including hospitality, retail, banking/financial, gas stations, healthcare and warehouse/distribution, to name a few. Founder and CEO, Stephen Enfield, started the company in 1999 in his Boxford, MA basement. An employee at MICROS Systems at the time, Enfield noticed that there were plenty of places to buy a POS System, but not many reliable sources to buy the receipt paper and other supplies that go along with those systems. So he decided to take a leap of faith and created POS Supply Solutions.

Over the past two decades, the company has had to adjust to plenty of changes. Enfield and his growing team moved to a handful of North Shore, MA locations including Topsfield and Danvers, ultimately purchasing the facility in Middleton in 2017. But more importantly, they’ve had to keep up with the ever changing POS technology marketplace and customers’ needs.

“Twenty years ago, there was just the basic cash register or credit card terminal,” says Enfield. “Today, you’ve got mobile payment devices, kiosks, RFID labels and so much more. We’ve had to broaden our product line over the years - but we’ve always stayed true to our core focus, which is to make it easy for our customers to get the right solution, no matter what their need.”

Today, POS Supply Solutions has over 50,000 customers across the United States - ranging from small mom-and-pop shops to big name brands including Friendly’s Restaurants, Fenway Park, Legal Seafoods, The Black Dog and more. In addition to the HQ office in Middleton, they have remote offices in New York and Maryland.
