Installing Printer Ribbons In Your POS Impact Printers

Below are quick and easy steps for installing and replacing printer ribbons for the most common POS dot matrix printers (such as Epson TM-U220 and Bixolon SRP-275).

Step 1: Before inserting the ribbon cassette, turn the knob clockwise to tighten the ribbon and prevent it from twisting.

Step 2: Open the front cover of the printer and take out the old ribbon cassette if there is one.

Step 3: Insert the new ribbon cassette as shown, paying particular attention to the placement of the ribbon behind the printer head.

Step 4: While inserting the ribbon cassette, turn the knob clockwise again to make sure the ribbon moves freely in the cassette.

Installing Paper Rolls In Your POS Impact Printers

Make sure you are using bond paper rolls, 2-ply carbonless paper rolls or 3-ply carbonless paper rolls that meet the printer’s specifications by checking your machine’s manual or website first. Step 1: Open the rear cover by pushing the open button. Remove the used paper roll core if there is one.

Step 2: Insert the paper roll as shown.

Step 3: Pull out small amount of paper as shown. Then close the cover and tear off the extra paper by pulling it toward the front of the printer.
