What Are Traditional Thermal Labels?
Traditional thermal labels have a backing liner that must be peeled off before use. These labels are reliable and durable, available in a variety of roll diameters, core sizes, colors, and options for perforated or non-perforated labels.
What Are Linerless Labels?
Linerless labels, also called liner-free labels, eliminate the backing liner entirely. A special release coating prevents the adhesive from sticking to the roll, allowing more labels per roll, less waste, and fewer roll changes. Linerless labels come in removable/repositionable, semi-permanent, and permanent adhesive options, giving businesses flexibility depending on their application.
For QSRs, restaurants, and food packaging, removable linerless labels help maintain order accuracy. If a label is placed on the wrong bag, it can be easily repositioned without damaging the label or packaging, speeding up assembly and reducing errors.
It’s important to note that linerless labels only work with liner-free compatible POS printers, such as the Epson TM-L90/ TM-L100 or Bixolon SRP-S300. Standard thermal printers that rely on liner-backed labels cannot properly print or feed these labels.
