Waffletechnology Cleaning Cards

Waffletechnology® cleaning cards allow anyone to easily maintain devices without having to open the device and potentially damage critical sensors.

Cleaning cards are used for the purposes of preventing expensive maintenance and replacement costs, eliminating or minimizing failed transactions, which result in frustrated and unsatisfied customers, and to ensure overall efficiency and reliability. As transaction equipment has become more advanced to curb fraudulent transactions, so has media for those transactions. Keeping new read sensors clean is critical. Waffletechnology® cleaning cards achieve a level of clean that is unmatched. Using Waffletechnology® cleaning cards allows the user to achieve a more advanced clean, while actually decreasing cleaning frequency, which saves time and money.

Waffletechnology® cleaning cards incorporate flexible, raised platforms on their top and bottom surfaces. These cleaning platforms are essentially spring-loaded, significantly increasing the pressure applied to the internal components as the card passes through the mechanism. Not only is cleaning pressure increased, but the platforms actually spring up into surface cavities to clean recessed sensors. Additionally, the leading and trailing surfaces of rounded optical lenses are effectively cleaned. As the card is accepted into the mechanism and as it is dispensed by the mechanism, it is cleaning all surfaces.

In order to keep your equipment running smoothly, regular use of a Waffletechnology® cleaning card is recommended. Usage rate, application type, and the external environment will determine how often equipment should be cleaned. For external / high use terminals, daily cleaning is recommended. For internal / lighter use applications, weekly cleaning should be sufficient. Ultimately, users should spend a period of time analyzing the results of each cleaning process and should create a cleaning regiment based on the amount of dirt and debris removed after each clean.

Typically, you should not use a card more than once. Dirt and debris that is removed from a piece of equipment should not be re-introduced to that piece of equipment. Never re-use a card that is significantly dirty from removing contaminants through the first cleaning process. When a cleaning card looks quite clean after the initial use, it can be reused in an effort to loosen built up dirt. However, when multiple uses result in little or no debris removal, the cleaning regimen should be reexamined. To achieve the best clean of an extremely dirty piece of equipment, use new cards until there minimal or no dirt remaining.

As long as the seal of the foiled pouch containing the cleaning card is not violated, the card will maintain its effectiveness. For product quality and reliability reasons, it is recommended that cards be used within two to three years after purchase.

Due to the incorporation of additional manufacturing operations, and because of the dramatic increase in function and performance, Waffletechnology® cleaning cards are more expensive than traditional flat cards. However, due to the potential to decrease cleaning frequency, the use of Waffletechnology® cleaning cards can result in a net savings on cleaning card spending.

Waffletechnology® is receiving vigorous support and endorsement from numerous major original equipment manufacturers. The official endorsement process is lengthy and there are hundreds of OEMs to go through this process with; however, Waffletechnology® cleaning cards promise to be the most widely endorsed technical cleaning products on the market.
