As many of you know, 2017 and 2018 were very challenging for the thermal paper market and our industry. A critical shortage of leuco dye, plus the rising cost of wood pulp, transportation and labor all lead to thermal paper mills increasing their prices on Point of Sale thermal paper. The pressures even began to trickle down into the bond and carbonless paper segments, forcing price increases on those products as well.

We knew, however, that the market was eventually going to come back down to earth. Fortunately, this summer we’ve started to see some stabilization in the leuco dye supply and economy grade thermal paper market, and as a result, we’ve been able to negotiate lower rates for POS lightweight thermal (48 gram & 55 gram) paper. We are thrilled to pass those savings on to you, our valued customers!
